The Bunker Hill Society

This Society honors the Patriots who participated in the Colonial ranks at the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775, continuing through the Siege of Boston and ending on March 27, 1776.

This pivotal engagement marked the beginning of a sustained resistance that continued through the Siege of Boston, which ended on March 17, 1776: commemorated as Evacuation Day.

During this nine-month period, these men, women, and children not only inflicted grievous harm on British forces occupying Boston, but also demonstrated enduring resolve in the face of siege conditions.

Through extraordinary efforts, including the transport of cannon from Fort Ticonderoga in the depths of winter and the fortification of Dorchester Heights, the Patriots ultimately compelled the British to evacuate the city.

The Bunker Hill Society celebrates their patriotic participation and lasting contribution to the spirit of the American Revolution.

Applicants must demonstrate descent—either direct or collateral—from a Patriot who participated in events associated with the Battle of Bunker Hill or the Siege of Boston.

Eligibility is defined by service or involvement between June 17, 1775 (Bunker Hill Day) and March 17, 1776 (Evacuation Day), encompassing the full duration of the Siege of Boston.
